Casting Marty & James
The Emergent Repertory Theatre is casting the two remaining roles in Annie Baker’s Circle Mirror Transformation, directed by Cody Robinson. Season 1 culminates with this production in January 2027.
Marty — written as a woman, 50s–60s
James — written as a man, late 50s–60s
Production & Rehearsals
Performances: January 15, 16, 22 and 23, 2027 at 7 PM at Warehouse Studio Theatre in Cornelius, NC. $150 flat production stipend per actor. Non-union.
Rehearsals begin lightly in November, increase in December, and become intensive in early January. Weeknight rehearsals generally begin around 7 PM, with some weekend calls.
Self-Tape Requirements
One contemporary monologue up to two minutes, plus one provided role-specific “Hi, my name is…” excerpt under Additional Materials on Backstage. James: Audition Piece 1 (James introduces Marty). Marty: Audition Piece 5 (Marty introduces Lauren). Perform only the introduction monologue, excluding surrounding scenes.
Include your headshot, resume, and all known conflicts November 1, 2026–January 23, 2027.
Self-tapes due October 12, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. In-person callbacks by invitation.
